Assuming your iPod Touch is 3rd generation or later and has iOS version 4.3 or later, iTunes Home Sharing will let you do exactly that with no additional apps needed. You simply need to enable home sharing on the computer you want to stream media from. You will see the home sharing icon under the store section in iTunes.
